Neighbourhood management

Our responsibility

For us, housing means more than just living within one’s own four walls. In our view, living also includes an attractive living environment and a sense of responsibility for the neighbourhood and community life in the local area.

That is why we take various measures to help create neighbourhoods worth living in. We increase the quality of living in the immediate residential environment with well-tended green spaces, trees, seating, and playgrounds. And we pay attention to a balanced tenant structure to ensure harmonious coexistence.

We support neighbourhood initiatives at all our major locations and in connected neighbourhoods and initiate social projects with partners for all target groups. To live up to our social responsibility for our regions, we provide support for kindergartens, schools, and sports clubs.

Together with our tenants, we shape neighbourhoods in which social interaction, an attractive living environment and environmental aspects come together. Regional agreements and alliances in which we participate provide an important framework for this. As a member of the Thuringia Sustainability Agreement and the Thuringia Biodiversity Alliance, we assume responsibility that goes beyond legal requirements. In this way, we firmly embed social responsibility and environmental sustainability in our neighbourhood development.

Thuringia Sustainability Agreement (NAT)

We have been part of the Thuringia Sustainability Agreement since 2025 – initially with our Erfurt site, and since 2026 with Gera as well.

The NAT brings together companies that want to make Thuringia a more sustainable and liveable place. Together, they work on issues such as:

  • climate action and biodiversity
  • sustainable mobility
  • social interaction within neighbourhoods

Through our participation in the NAT, we are increasing the visibility of our commitment, continuously refining our initiatives and benefiting from dialogue with other committed companies in the region.

Thuringia Biodiversity Alliance

As part of the Thuringia Biodiversity Alliance, we have been working alongside other companies since May 2026 to promote greater biodiversity in the region. The aim of the alliance is to promote biodiversity and firmly embed it in business practice.

As a platform for collaboration, the Alliance offers the opportunity to share knowledge, launch joint projects and develop new solutions together.

The Alliance was established by the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in collaboration with the Thuringia Sustainability Pact and the ‘Businesses for Biodiversity’ project.
